Random - what program do you use to create your posts and make them appear as in frames and what not? I've used picnik and foto flexer but can't seem to get them as cutesy as yours! :) Ha Erin http://eberhartsexplorers.blogspot.com/
Hi Kim and Megan! You two continually amaze me with your wonderful ideas and creative classrooms!! Thanks so much for sharing. Some question to ask you if you have time to answer-the "carpet bags"-can you still get them or just during the school sales and the vocab words-you print the same word on the same colored paper and laminated for each student? For recording their answers to reading the word card-any particular type of assessment sheet you use? Do you do the testing or do you have an assistant? So many questions, sorry but you are always a great help to me. I can't wait to see you at a SDE conference in Penna.!! Thank you again for always sharing! Maryan brennemm@carlisleschools.org
Hey Maryann, We have a system wide assessment for our sight words. We can not put it "out" as it is considered "standardized". But it is just a list of 100 words. We time them to see how many words they can read in a minute and then the total number of words they can read.I do the testing myself. It doesn't take long!
Not sure if I understand the vocabulary word question. If you are talking about the high frequency word wall words, they are printed on colored paper. Then, their ring of words is printed on the same colors. The math and literacy vocabulary words are printed on white cardstock.
The carpet bags are any kind of canvas bags! They always have different kinds. There may be more at sometimes than others, just have to keep looking. Look at Dollar Tree and Target!

She and Andy, her husband, have two children, Megan, who is married to Nick, and Tyler, who is married to Ginny. They also have a beagle named KT Ann. Megan followed in her mom's footsteps and is also a kindergarten teacher. She loves building relationships with her kiddos and their families. When she isn't teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family. She is married to Nick. They enjoy all the GA sports teams! She and Nick have a miniature dachshund named Lily Grace.

Okay, so I never said I could spell. It's Marzano! Forgive me...I'm old! :)
Erin: I make the slides in power point, save as a png, and then use windows live writer to publish. Not hard if I can do it! I am so challenged!
