Thanks for sharing your ideas. I do something similar to your sight word snowman. I call mine...Melt A Snowman. This is how it works... Build a snowman with the pieces. Think of a word and write the number of dashes that equal the number of letters in the word on a piece of paper. (for example, if the word is FROG you would write __ __ __ __ ). I will have cards with 3-6 letter words for the kids to look at. Your opponent then tries to guess the word by guessing letters. If your opponent guesses a letter correctly, fill in the corresponding dash with the letter. If your opponent guesses wrong, take away one body part from your snowman, ending with the hat. If the opponent guesses the word before the snowman is melted, they win! I have pictures on my Winter Wonderland of Centers post. Check it out! Amber
Kim is a retired kindergarten teacher! She taught kindergarten for 30 years and now works as a national presenter. Now that she is retired, she spends her time volunteering in Megan's room. When she isn't working at Megan's school, she loves to garden and spend time with her family. She and Andy, her husband, have two children, Megan, who is married to Nick, and Tyler, who is married to Ginny. They also have a beagle named KT Ann. Megan followed in her mom's footsteps and is also a kindergarten teacher. She loves building relationships with her kiddos and their families. When she isn't teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family. She is married to Nick. They enjoy all the GA sports teams! She and Nick have a miniature dachshund named Lily Grace.
