To celebrate Black History Month, we learned about Dr. King. We talked about his "I have a dream" speech. We worked together to make a Dream Quilt.
We invited each child to think about their own dream. They each drew a picture of their dream. Then, we typed the words for their dream on the computer, printed them out, and glued them to their pictures. I used yarn and tied each square together to make a quilt.

I love making quilts. We are going to make one soon because the Canyons(authors/illustrators) are coming to our school. It just take awhile to tie the strings!! Thanks for the great idea for Black History.
