Kim - I think I've heard you speak about this at least 3 times now. I think I'm starting to get it. But, here's my questions -- how in the heck do you manage it all?? Are kiddos doing this every day? How often are you checking what they know? Do they get bored? It's a math center, right?? I'm sure you'll cover all this, but you know me, I'm one of those eager beavers :)
I love MTW!! I took a workshop on it yeearrsss ago and it really does make sense and like you said,if you teach long enough things swing back around and are in 'style'. It was by far one of the best workshops I ever took when I started out in teaching.
Why do you use a library pocket? The assessment is on the back, why not just use an index card? Is there something that goes inside? I don't understand the assessment part.
I just love your blog! You are a true inspiration and educator! I learn something every time I go to your blog. I have taught thirty years and had math their way training a long time ago. This inspires me to get out those work jobs and use them again. I have all the sprayed beans and colored cards. I look forward to your future blogs. Tonia Vento in Redlands,CA

I teach in a small Catholic School with many highly motivated teachers but we just don't get the opportunities for Professional Development like the Public Schools!! Thank goodness for Blogging!! I guess that is our Professional Development right now!!! Gotta love it!!
