This sounds wonderful Kim! I have this on my beginning of the year wishlist! =) I can't wait to purchase! Thanks for sharing all your hard work! You are simply fabulous! Jessica
I am new to the smartboard but I had a question from one of your other posts. I have your student calendar and would like to use it on the smartboard. What steps did you take to do that? I used a piece of paper last year and just didnt like it because it was hard for the students to see. Also, what does Megan put on the back of her 100th day puzzle pieces to hold them up? Thanks, Dee tammie_oliver@yahoo.com
Dee, I first put the puzzle together and then flip it over with a piece of card board. Then I number the backs of my pieces. I have always just cut out a piece of poster board the same size as the puzzle. Then I glue the pieces on each day. Hint: Start with the border and then spiral inside. It helps! I always buy the dollar puzzle so that I can just throw it away at the end of the year. Hope this helps!
Dee, Megan and I do not have smart boards. However, check out my friend Kathleen Pederson's blog growingkinders.blogspot.com. She has used my calendar on her blog. I am sure you can send her a question and she will be able to help you.
I had the chance to go to Teacher's College last year for a summer institute and I can out with so many great ideas- implememnting this year went well, but I have lots of room for improvment. Your unit one is just what I needed. Thanks so much for sharing all your great work!
I know that your reader's workshop units are perfect for K and 1st grade. Do you think that they could work in 2nd grade? I taught K for two years and miss using all of your resources! I was hoping your new units would be a good way to get to use your resources again! :) Thanks! Sarah
Kim, I have your calendar on activboard if you'd like to share it with someone who has purchased your calendar unit. I am coming to Alabama at the end of July. Hopefully I got into some if your workshops! I can show you the calendar then if you'd like to see it. Donna
Love the Blasting Off with Readers Workshop. I cut apart the overview of lessons and pasted them into my plan book. I also added a note at the bottom, if I am making a chart with that lesson or need something to prep. Thanks again, So well organized and easy to implement! just what a teacher needs! We do not have one for writer's. Right now we are working on doing the reading, but writing is on our radar!
Thank you so much!!!

I love your anchor charts! I have used some of them and my students were on task because of the bright paper and the organization of them!
